Rosemarie Fonti Recognized for Dedication to Nursing
Miss. Fonti takes care of her brother, who is an amputee, in addition to her work responsibilities

VERPLANCK, NY, July 13, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rosemarie Fonti, Nursing Assistant at the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System in Montrose, N.Y., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in nursing.

Miss Fonti's mother worked for District 3 in food service and her father worked at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Hospital in the housekeeping department. During Rosemarie's school years, she worked at the Montrose Nursing Home. Upon graduation, she studied cosmetology at the Wayne School of Beauty in White Plains, N.Y. After several years in the profession, she felt the call to return to the nursing field as an adult. She now has 41 years of professional experience; the past 26 as a nursing assistant for the Hudson Valley Health Care System. Miss Fonti works the night shift in the nursing care unit and holds the responsibility of taking vital signs, dressing patients in the morning, and feeding those who can't do it themselves. She previously worked at the Westledge Nursing Home in Peekskill, N.Y. and has done some private duty nursing. Her success can be attributed to her compassionate nature.

In addition to her work responsibilities, Miss Fonti has also taken care of her mother, and at present, her brother, who has been an amputee for the past 5½ years. Over the years, she has taken friends to see their doctors or receive treatment. She has also taken them shopping and out to lunch or dinner. Miss Fonti is a member of St. Patrick's Church in Verplanck, N.Y., and serves on the 300 Club committee. She is an usher and has worked on many parish events. She was also a member, Vice President and President of the Mt. Carmel Ladies Auxiliary. She is a member of the Verplanck Seniors Club and presently holds the position of secretary. She attended SUNY New Paltz and Mercy College - Dobbs Ferry campus. She plans to continue to care for others as a nursing assistant and volunteer for many years to come.

Her hobbies are sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading romance and history novels and watching Hawaii Five-0, CSI, Criminal Minds, The Mentalist and an assortment of movies. She has three siblings, Constance, Patricia and Vincent, four nieces, six nephews, eight great nieces, six great nephews and one great-great niece.
