Sister Celeste Trahan Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Spiritual Leadership
Celeste Trahan has used her God-given talent to help others through nursing, teaching and community leadership

HOUSTON, TX, October 17, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sister Celeste Trahan, a member of the General Council of the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in spiritual leadership.

For 40 years, Trahan has utilized her God-given talents to help people through nursing, teaching and administration. Currently, she is a member of the General Council of the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word; she has served in this capacity for five years. She has been a member of the Congregation for 47 years. As a recognized leader of her community, she is responsible for representing the Congregation on the Health Board System in various capacities as a nurse, including being an instructor of obstetrical nursing at the University of St. Thomas. In addition, she is a Certified Nurse-Midwife, and worked in a rural area of Louisiana in that capacity.

A registered nurse of the state of Texas, Trahan holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Saint Louis University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Sacred Heart Dominican College. She strives to live each day fully as a loving, caring, compassionate person and to be generous with the gifts that God has given her. Her success thus far has been recognized with a Extraordinary Woman Award by the Pioneering Women Organization and Professional Woman of the Year Award by the National Association of Professional Women. Trahan is affiliated with the Houston Holistic Network and American Holistic Nurses Association.

The Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word is based in Houston but is international in scope; the sisters directly serve people in need in El Salvador, Guatemala, Ireland, Kenya and the United States.
