LAFAYETTE, LA, September 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rev. Jude A. Halphen, Director of the Office of Marriage and Family Life of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lafayette, Louisiana, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in counseling services.

Soon after he was ordained as a priest in 1993, Rev. Jude A. Halphen discovered a serious need for assisting people with issues related to marriage. He thus decided to focus his energies on this area when he joined the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lafayette. As the director of the Office of Marriage and Family Life, Rev. Halphen specializes in counseling individuals, couples and families. He organizes and conducts marriage preparation workshops and workshops for the clergy, as well as renders individual and group therapy. Rev. Halphen considers preparing people for marriage and helping couples through their problems to be the most vital and rewarding aspects of his work. He attributes his success to hard work, dedication, and the support of the people around him.

Rev. Halphen is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in counseling psychology at Walden University. He holds a master's degree in applied psychology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, a master's degree in theology from Mount St. Mary's Seminary, and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Saint Joseph Seminary College. His professional affiliations include the American Psychological Association, Chi Sigma Iota, and Psi Chi. Most recently, Rev. Halphen was declared "Professional of the Year in Counseling Services" by Cambridge Who's Who . He looks forward to completing his doctorate and plans to continue counseling.
