Rev. Hans-Fredrik Gustafson, Ph.D. Honored for Accomplishments in Interim Ministry
The Rev. Dr. Hans-Fredrik Gustafson celebrated for 50 years of dedication to spiritual leadership
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, September 21, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rev. Hans-Fredrik Gustafson, a retired ordained Lutheran pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of interim ministry.
Named Cambridge Publishing's 2010 Professional of the Year in Interim Ministry, Hans-Fredrik Gustafson is hereby recognized for his steadfast commitment to religious leadership. Prior to his retirement, he worked as an ordained Lutheran pastor for over 50 years—specializing in reformation history, ecumenical studies and liturgical and homiletic leadership. During the course of his career, Dr. Gustafson has served as an interim pastor for such organizations as The Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut, the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, the Zion Lutheran Church and the Advent Lutheran Church, all located in Florida.
In an exclusive interview with Cambridge Publishing, Dr. Gustafson recalled what he now cites as the highlight of his career. The year was 1996, and the congregation of the Holy Trinity Church had just relocated to Trumbull, Connecticut. Dr. Gustafson, the pastor at the time, played a critical role in building the religious program and served the congregation for an additional five years. He also oversaw the construction of its facility, a $2 million project.
Today, Dr. Gustafson does interim work in Lutheran parishes in Southeast Florida. Though in retirement, he continues to serve his spiritual community with the same perseverance and commitment to the Gospel as he did as a full-time pastor. His primary responsibilities include ministering to and teaching individuals in the way of the Lord. Moving forward, he will seek to broaden his audience by improving his Spanish. He also plans to devote more time to traveling.
Dr. Gustafson holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a master of divinity from The Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago and a certification from the Interim Ministry Network. In addition to being an ordained pastor, he is also licensed by The Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida.
