Bishop Carlton T. Brown Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Spiritual Services
Bishop Carlton T. Brown Has 28 Years of Experience Building Churches Across the U.S. and All Over the World
NEW YORK, NY, March 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Bishop Carlton T. Brown, Senior Pastor of Bethel Gospel Assembly, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in spiritual services.
Spurred by a desire to serve God and his fellowman, Bishop Carlton T. Brown pledged his life to the church as a minister in 1982. He has devoted the last decade to Bethel Gospel Assembly, where as Senior Pastor he is responsible primarily for the spiritual wellbeing of 1,500 parishioners. An authority on mission ministry, church organizational structure and youth ministry, Bishop Brown draws on his expertise to oversee a vibrant Christian Education Ministry and the Department of Youth Services programs facilitated through the 80-plus rooms and two gyms located within the Bethel Church complex. Additionally, he functions as chairman and chief executive officer of Urban and Global Missions Alliance, an international ministry operation that covers South Africa, St. Vincent, Jamaica, Venezuela, India and the Dominican Republic, as well as the Tri-State Area, Virginia, Georgia and Florida. He is also the founder of Bethel Gospel Global Assemblies International, with churches in the tri-state area, Virginia, Georgia and Florida.
Also active in the community, Bishop Brown oversees the operations for Beth-Hark Christian Care Center, Inc., which includes a food pantry, feeding program, referral network and discipleship program. A widely traveled missionary, he has helped organize medical missions to numerous countries and has built churches across South Africa through the Bethel Gospel Assembly Ministry Trust, which to date has constructed a Christian academy northwest of the country and seven local churches in the Transkei in the Eastern Cape. While spreading the Word of God to a largely hostile audience of 40,000 in India, Bishop Brown managed to convert more than 500 people to receive Jesus Christ, and considers this one of the highlights of his career in religious service. The author of "Till Death Do We S.H.O.P.," a book that establishes a philosophy of ministry for people seeking hope in their lives, he attributes his success to his faith, the solid spiritual foundation that he owes to his parents, the support of his wife and children, and the guidance of his first mentor, Bishop Dr. Ezra N. Williams.
Bishop Brown is working on his Doctoral Degree in Urban Ministries from Bakke Graduate University in Seattle. He received a Master's Degree in Professional Studies from Alliance Theological Seminary. He was consecrated to the office of Bishop in 2008. He serves as clergy liaison to the New York Police Department, Vice Chairman of the United Harlem Clergy Coalition, a board member of Concerts of Prayer, president of Becoming God's Answer Book Store, founder of the North East Regional Great Commission Conference, and chairman and superintendent of the Urban Global Mission Alliance. Previously, he was national and international missions director of the United Pentecostal Council of the Assemblies of God. In five years, Bishop Brown aspires to influence pastors in local churches to adopt the Bethel model for ministry.
