Carol H. Ponthieux Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
Carol H. Ponthieux recently defeated incumbent mayor C. J. Scheufens to win the Iowa mayoral race.
IOWA, LA, November 12, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Carol H. Ponthieux has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in city government.
Carol H. Ponthieux is a retired school teacher and former city councilwoman. On November 2, 2010, she defeated incumbent mayor C. J. Scheufens to win the Iowa, La. mayoral race. This will be Carol's second stint as mayor. She served as acting mayor for 9 months when former Mayor O'Brien was called to active duty after the September 11th attacks. She plans to establish better communications with Iowa citizens, work with the Iowa City Council to plan a yearly budget, and repair sewer systems and streets.
In 1989, she received a master's degree in education, plus 30, from McNeese State University. Ms. Ponthieux is a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 1377 and Alpha Delta Kappa. She was listed in Who's Who Among America's Teachers in 1994 and 2007.
