Anyone heading to Shanghai for the World Expo could book themselves tickets to see the Shaolin monks perform.

SHANGHAI, CHINA, June 01, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- People who have booked Shanghai hotels to visit the World Expo in the city will find that there are plenty of shows to watch as part of the event.

One that should not be missed is the Shaolin Martial Arts Show, which is set to run for two months, starting on July 1st.

Audiences will be treated to a showcase of kung fu combined with dance, acrobatics and magic.

The performance intends to "present the aesthetic and philosophical values of Shaolin Temple".

Anyone visiting the Shanghai World Expo should be able to catch one of four shows that are scheduled to be held each day.

They will last for 45 minutes each, while a further demonstration of Shaolin boxing and qigong will also take place on a daily basis.

This sees more than 50 Shaolin monks demonstrating martial arts techniques, such as the deep breathing exercises that can allow the body to withstand a blow from a knife or sword.

People who want to see this show by the monks will find them at various outdoor squares throughout the duration of the Expo.

Anyone who is interested can also ask the monks to teach them some basic marital arts skills after the performance.
