San Bernabe Festival in Marbella could add a little magic to a Seville holiday, with fireworks and many other activities set to take place during the occasion.

SEVILLE, SPAIN, May 02, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Guests at Seville hotels could experience a little taste of Spanish culture during their trip to the Andalusian city by travelling down to Marbella for the San Bernabe Festival.

Taking place from June 7th to 13th, the event will involve all sorts of activities for the duration of the festivities, which are held in honour of the patron saint of the city San Bernabe.

Strictly speaking, the saint's day is on June 11th, but the celebrations will go on for a few days either side of the official holiday in the time-honoured Spanish tradition of enjoying a good party.

It costs nothing to attend, so travellers have no excuse not to check out this event if they are in the area.

There will be fireworks to begin the festival and the last day sees the commemoration of the Reconquista, which is one of the most important parts of the whole occasion, according to listings website What's on When.

It added: "This was led by the Spanish monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella, who expelled the Moors and regained control of the kingdom."

The fun is not limited to just one week for locals, with exposition of San Bernabe Festival posters currently on display in Marbella and the announcement of queens and dames of the event taking place at Plaza de la Iglesia tomorrow (April 30th).
