Mary L. Davis Honored for Excellence in Musical Composition and Performance
Mary L. Davis's latest release of her original song "Call Upon Him" has reached the rank of #3 within the first week of airplay

BRECKENRIDGE, MO, December 3, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mary L. Davis, the Director and CFO as well as a Singer and Songwriter for Mary L. Davis Ministries, has been recognized as a VIP member by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of musical composition and performance.

Mary L. Davis has been singing and writing songs in the Southern gospel and hymn genre for 35 years. Currently, she and her husband John work as an evangelistic team, traveling across the country to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In church, Mary uses her music as a catalyst to set the stage for John's old fashioned style preaching, which endeavors to rekindle joy and zeal in God. The duo also performs at church meetings, various events, and concerts. Mary aspires to make more public appearances in order to share the spirit of love and peace through God.

On November 4, 2009, Mary released her second original song entitled 'Call Upon Him.' Her first song, 'God's Lullaby of Love' was released nationally through Radio Active Airplay this past July. When 'God's Lullaby of Love' reached #5 within its first week of airplay, she received a letter of commendation for the achievement from Mike Lair of the Missouri House of Representatives. This past July, Mary also took part in the Inaugural Branson Gospel Music Convention, where she had a booth and twice performed on stage. John, meanwhile, was given the unexpected chance to be named a new radio promoter through 'Singing News,' the leading Southern Gospel music magazine, while working at the National Quartet Convention this past year.

In December 2007, Mary released two professionally recorded CDs entitled 'Call Upon Him' and 'The Wounded Healer.' Her music is aired on various U.S. Christian radio stations as well as in Uganda, Malawi, Liberia, Ghana, and Kenya, Africa and can be purchased online as downloadable tracks or entire CDs. Mary actively searches out other outlets for her music and plans to release additional songs in the near future.

As press agents for Christian radio stations for the past two years, Mary and John have had the honor of interviewing many great performers in the Southern Gospel industry including Ronnie Booth of The Booth Brothers, Bill Shivers of Brian Free and Assurance, Scott Fowler of Legacy Five, Gordon Mote, Mosie Lister, Archie Watson (formerly of The Inspirations) and Peg (McKamey) Bean of The McKameys.

Born in Providence, RI, Mary is registered as an artist with Broadcast Music, Inc., which handles her music and publishing royalties. Before establishing Mary L. Davis Ministries, Mary was employed in bus and rest home ministries and taught in a Christian school, where she coached the girls' volleyball and basketball teams. Over the years, she has worked in various branches of church outreach, including as a church secretary, youth counselor, junior church teacher and director, and a youth choir director. She also ran bus routes and nurseries for the church. Mary participated in missionary studies at Baptist Bible College and completed coursework at Ben Speer's Stamps Baxter School of Music in 2007 and 2008. She is a member of the Gospel Music Association and The Southern Gospel Music Association.
