Reverend John A. Barnes Devoted 38 Years to Religious Service
WEST CHESTER, OH, September 24, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Reverend John A. Barnes, who has retired as Reverend of the West Virginia Conference of The United Methodist Church, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in religious service.
Rev. Barnes has enjoyed a fruitful 38 years in the service of his church. He concluded his career at the West Virginia Conference of The United Methodist Church, where he served as pastor to several local churches for 38 years. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Speech in 1959 from Baldwin-Wallace College.
Legally blind, Rev. Barnes also obtained a diploma from the Ohio State School for the Blind. He is affiliated with Lions Clubs International and names St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as his favorite charity. He attributes the success that he has enjoyed to the support of his late wife Jacqueline, with whom he would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this August. Though officially in retirement, Rev. Barnes looks forward to continuing his work in ministry.
