Reverend Stella S. Sowder, M.Div., RN Joins the Ranks of Leading Professionals
Reverend Stella S. Sowder has known she wanted to enter her profession since childhood
LAONA, WI, July 31, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Reverend Stella S. Sowder, of Laona Church of the Nazarene, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of pastoral counseling.
Rev. Sowder has 16 years of experience with the Laona Church of the Nazarene. Some of her responsibilities include officiating at the Sunday and Wednesday night prayer services, teaching Sunday School, coordinating with the commission on aging, scheduling transportation for the sick and elderly for their medical appointments and managing cooperative food pantry. Reverand Sowder is a former police chaplain at Marinette in Wisconsin. She has helped organize a 10-denomination Christian Thrift Shop that has raised money for training dogs to help the disabled.
She attributes her success to her faith in God, her parents who taught her how to work hard and never give up and to the support she received from her sister. By following her dream of becoming a reverend that she has had since she was 11 years old, Rev. Sowder is where she is today.
Rev. Sowder received her Master of Divinity from Anderson University School of Theology in 1987. She is also a registered nurse. She is a member of the National Right to Life, has served as the president of the local ministerial association in Marinette and was acknowledged in Who's Who Among American Christiam Leadership (1989 edition). In her future, Rev. Sowder hopes to retire and write a book. She would also like to pursue her doctorate in divinity and attend her 50th high school reunion.
