Cambridge Who's Who honors Arthur J. Freeman for over 37 years of dedication and service

Bethlehem, PA, August 31, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rt. Rev. Arthur J.. Freeman, Jr., Professor at Moravian Theological Seminary in New Testament, Moravian Theology and Spiritual Formation, and selected a Bishop of the Moravian Church, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership, and excellence in theological education.

Over 37 years ago Arthur J. Freeman Jr. embarked on a religious journey that would lead him across the globe and ultimately touch hundreds of lives. Inspired by his desire to help others and the reality of God, Dr. Freeman gained professorship at Moravian Theological Seminary and was selected as a Bishop of the Moravian Church. As he encountered the life and faith of the Moravian Church he began to explore and write its theology and edited a journal. His personal calling also brought him to Tanzania, Africa, where he spent some time teaching - an achievement for which he credits the reality of God in his life and experience. Presently he shares with the Church some 20 books and many articles which grew out of his teaching and which are now available on the Internet. The many dimensions of his teaching and writing include New Testament, Spiritual Formation, the Theology of the Moravian Church, Ecumenics, Evangelism, Illness and Healing (Freeman was on the Boards and Committees of St. Luke's and Good Shepherd Hospitals), Poetry, and Computer Technology. Theology of the Heart (Zinzendorf's theology) was published in English and German to serve the needs of an international Church.

Dr. Freeman holds a Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary. Prior to joining Moravian Theological Seminary, Dr. Freeman as a pastor established a new church in the Philadelphia area, then taught at Moravian Seminary for 35 years, and then served as an interim pastor at Central Moravian Church, Bethlehem. He served as Moravian Representative for the Faith and Order Commission of the National Council of Churches of Christ.
